A WINNING MOMENT CAPTURED LIVE AND BROADCAST TO THE PLANET

 

When WebStager started this project, transmitting images live to the planet seemed like a fun and creative way for us to showcase our creativity and social media tools. We didn't expect to become a live event the entire world would be watching.

 

The day of the final game to determine hockey gold started early. The WebStager team arrived to experience the crowds, the excitement and to drive the technology.

 

 

THE OUTCOME

 

We blogged, we socialized, we experienced.

 

We collected and streamed images once per second from 3 different angles. The multi-camera feeds broadcasted live images to the Internet 24/7 during the 2010 Olympics. The site became one of the most active web cam sites on the planet. We even got a call from Yahoo Corporate during the first week of the Winter Games.

 

Our tools and applications worked in the background to deliver many forms of social media and content. From a single console we were able to send multiple streams of contemporaneous action to designated social spots, email and mobile apps. Our team of journalists was able to update images and video on our GPS galleries, while widgets at the George site engaged users to share and exchange ideas, comments, etc.

 

On the search engines, our search automation tools dominated the first page of Google and Yahoo with high-traffic, high-competition key phrases. Our engine powered our terms and phrases to the same first page of Google as broadcast giants CTV News and NBC.

 

The crowds were electric and we shared the winning moments with the planet in time lapse footage.
